Roberta Creti

Roberta Creti got the B.S. degree in biological sciences from Rome University, Rome, Italy (a four‐year course with final dissertation, cum laude), in 1987 and the Ph.D. degree in bacterial molecular biology and evolution, with the thesis entitled “Inferring universal phylogeny using elongation factor genes as molecular clocks,” from the same university in 1992. Creti is a senior scientist whose areas of interest include molecular microbiology, bioinformatics, molecular evolution, and beta‐hemolytic streptococcal infections and surveillance. From September 1997 to October 1998, Creti got a postdoctoral research fellowship from the Channing Laboratory, Harvard Medical School of Boston, Boston, MA, USA (NIH Grant no. AI33963‐03) entitled “Genetics of the alpha‐C proteins of group B streptococci.”
