Jeff Gray serves as an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Alabama (UA). He received a Ph.D. degree in computer science from Vanderbilt University, and both the B.S. and M.S. degrees in computer science from West Virginia University. His research interests are generally in the areas that intersect software engineering and programming languages, with a specific focus on model-driven engineering, aspect-oriented software development, software maintenance, mobile computing, and human-computer interfaces. In addition to his research interests, he is also active in computer science education, with a focus on K-12 interests (e.g., summer camps, programming competitions, teacher training workshops). He is a National Science Foundation CAREER Award winner and was named the 2008 Alabama Professor of the Year. He is a Senior Member of both the IEEE and ACM, and he currently serves as the chair of the Alabama IEEE Computer Society.
