Joao Bosco Pesquero

Joao Bosco Pesquero was born in PenĂ¡polis, Brazil, in 1962. He received the Chemistry degree from the Universidade de Sao Paulo in 1986 and the Ph.D. degree in molecular biology from the Universidade Federal de Sao Paulo in 1992. From 1993 to 1996, Pesquero has been a Postdoctoral Fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Michael Bader in Heidelberg and Berlin, Germany. Presently, he is a Professor and Head of the Biophysics Department at the Universidade Federal de Sao Paulo. He is mainly interested in the molecular and cellular biology of the kallikrein-kinin and renin-angiotensin systems and the genetics of inborn errors of metabolism. In 2007, he was awarded the Frey-Werle Prize from the Frey-Werle Foundation.
