Giuseppe Rizzo was born in Italy in 1958. He received the M.D. degree (summa cum laude) and the specialization degree in obstetrics and gynecology (summa cum laude) from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Rome, Italy, in 1983 and 1987, respectively. Since 1986, he has been serving as a Staff Member at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the same university. Since 1993, he moved to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the same university, where he works as an Aggregate Professor. He is mainly interested in prenatal diagnosis and in particular in the ultrasound applications in this field. He was awarded 3 times for the best oral communication by the American Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine. From 1998 to 2004, he served as the Vice President of the Italian Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is an Honorary Member of the Spanish and Chilean Societies of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He authored 145 articles in peer-reviewed journals, 6 books, and 35 chapters.
