Ali) and then at Newcastle University, UK (August 2006-June 2008, Professor A. Houlton). During this time she has developed important knowledge and skills in physical-chemistry and inorganic synthesis. She had a training course in modern techniques AFM/STM (December 2006, Newcastle University) and now she is an expert in this field. After finishing her Post Doc stages, she has return to INCDTIM Cluj-Napoca Romania, in August 2008. Her research work was then focused on developing nanostructured sensors based on gold nanoparticles or graphene-metallic nanoparticles composite, for detection of pharmaceutical drugs (atenolol, carbamazepine and captopril). The latest scientific results were published in highly-ranked peer-review papers. She has 34 scientific publications in peer review journals, one book-chapter and 242 citations in peer-review papers (203 without self citation). She presented seminars at prestigious Universities from Europe: Institute fur Festkörperphysik, Austria (1995); Eötvös-Lorand University (1997) Hungary; Teesside University- UK (2004); Newcastle University- UK (2006). Dr. Stela Maria Pruneanu is member of Romanian Chemical Society and Romanian Physical Society, and reviewer for prestigious journals: ACS Nano, Langmuir, Electrochimica Acta, Sensors, Journal of Material Science and Particulate Science and Technology Journal. She is also Guest-Editor for Micro and Nanosystems, Bentham Publisher, UK and referent for French Research Agency- ANR.
