Mitsunori Yamakawa

Mitsunori Yamakawa was born in Yamagata, Japan, in 1954. He received the Ph.D. and M.D. degrees from the Yamagata University, Yamagata, Japan, in 1981 and 1985, respectively. He was an Assistant and a Lecturer at Yamagata University from 1985 to 1989 and from 1989 to 1996, respectively. From 1996 to 1998, Yamakawa was an Assistant Professor at Tokyo Women’s Medical University. Presently, he is a Professor. He is mainly interested in hematopathology, especially follicular dendritic cells and dendritic cells in nonneoplastic lymphoid tissues, tumors, and autoimmune diseases. He is an authorized pathologist and authorized cytologist. He is an Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hematopathology, a Councilor of the Japanese Society of Pathology, and a Director of the Japanese Society of for Lymphoreticular Tissue Research.
