Tomasa Calvo studied mathematics in the University of Valencia, Valencia, Spain, and received the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Madrid, Spain, in 1989. She starts to work as a Mathematics Professor at the University of the Balearic Islands, Palma, Spain, in 1977. Since 2000 Calvo serves as a Full Professor at the University of Alcalá, Alcalá de Henares, Spain. Her major research interests are in the area of uncertainty modeling, including the fuzzy logic, several types of aggregation techniques, nonadditive measure, and integral theory, and in functional equations. Calvo is the author/coauthor of more than 80 journal papers and chapters in edited volumes. She has participated in more than 60 international conferences. Moreover, she has organized and coorganized three conferences and several special sessions in some other conferences. She has also taken part in many of their scientific committees. She has been a Guest Editor of several special issues of international journals. Calvo is a Member of the European Association for Fuzzy Logic and Technology (EUSFLAT). She has received the acknowledgment of her colleagues for researching on fuzzy logic for more than 25 years.
