Gustavo Angel Maddonni0000-0002-3467-4412
Gustavo Angel Maddonni studied at the School of Agronomy, University of Buenos Aires (FA-UBA), Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 1983 to 1989, and obtained the title of Agronomist. Since 1989, he has been teaching at the undergraduate level of FA-UBA and at the Graduate School of the same university from 2000 to present. In 1998, he obtained the M.S. degree in vegetal production from the same university. In 2000, Maddonni was admitted as a Researcher at the National Council of Research (CONICET) of Argentina and, in 2002, he obtained the Doctorate degree in agricultural science from the University of Buenos Aires. As a Researcher he has directed or participated in more than 20 projects mainly focused on the ecophysiology of maize crops. His works were supported by grants from the University of Buenos Aires, the National Council of Research, the National Agency of Scientific and Technological Promotion, and several seed companies (Dekalb-Monsanto Argentina, Syngenta Semillas, and Atar Semillas). Maddonni has directed the theses of twenty undergraduate students (FA-UBA) and three graduate students (UBA). He is the first author or coauthor of twenty-nine papers, twenty-three of them published in international journals of the citation index, such as Field Crops Research, Crop Science, Plant Physiology, Annals of Botany, and Agronomy Journal. In addition, Maddonni has presented more than one hundred fifty works at national and international congress and technical meetings. He has refereed several papers (Field Crops Research, Crop Science, Weed Science, Spanish Journal of Agricultural Research, and Crop & Pasture Science). From 2008 to 2011, he was a Member of the Editorial Board of Agronomy Journal. Current research lines are intraspecific competition in maize crops and determination of maize kernel composition.
