Emilio Fiore was born in Atripalda (Italy) in 1966. He attended the “Scuola Superiore S. Anna” in Pisa and received his medical degree (magna cum laude) and his Postgraduate Degree in Endocrinology at the University of Pisa in 1991 and 1997, respectively. He obtained a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the Department of Pathology, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, where he spent about 3 years. He works at University Hospital of Pisa and is member of the European Thyroid Association and of the Italian Society of Endocrinology. His main research interests include thyroid autoimmunity and thyroid cancer and also the relationship between thyroid disease and breast cancer.
