Miguel A. Sogorb was born in Alicante, Spain, in 1967. He graduated in chemical science (specialty: biochemistry) in the Universidad de Valencia, Valencia, Spain in 1990 and he was doctorate in the University of Alicante, Alicante, Spain in 1997. He served as Postdoctoral Researcher in the Texas A&M University, College Station, Tex, USA for 2 years and afterwards he was enrolled in the Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche, Spain as Researcher, being one of the charter member of the Bioengineering Institute. He is now full time Faculty Professor of toxicology in this university and develops his research tasks within the Toxicology and Chemical Safety Unit of the above-cited bioengineering institute. He is mainly focused on the development of alternative methods for testing embryotoxicity and neurotoxicity and in the study of the role of several esterases of the detoxication of organophosphorus, carbamate, and pyrethroids pesticides. His scientific contributions to date include 46 papers in peer-reviewed journals (mainly in the field of toxicology), 4 book chapters, and close to 100 congress communications.
