Asher R. Sheppard
Asher R. Sheppard is a Research Scientist, Author, Speaker, and Public Health Analyst for issues related to the potential health effects of electric and magnetic fields across the frequency spectrum, including applications for electric power, radio and television broadcasting, wireless communications, and radar. His work over the past twenty-five years includes theoretical analyses in the biophysics of field effects, experiments conducted in vitro and in vivo, epidemiologic studies of human populations, and contributions to environmental policy. He obtained the Ph.D. degree in physics (SUNY, Buffalo) and postdoctoral training as a Fellow of the National Institute of Environmental Health Science at NYU Institute of Environmental Medicine and UCLA Brain Research Institute. He is the owner of Asher Sheppard Consulting in Redlands, California, and is an Assistant Research Professor of physiology at Loma Linda University. He was previously a Research Physicist at the Jerry L. Pettis VA Medical Center and a NIEHS Postdoctoral Fellow at the Brain Research Institute, UCLA, and at NYU Institute of Environmental Medicine, NY, USA. He is active as a reviewer for various journals and has served on the editorial board of Bioelectromagnetics since 1984. He was President of The Bioelectromagnetics Society (2001-2002) and also is a Member of AAAS, Biophysical Society, EBEA, and the Society for Neuroscience.
