Joseph Konde-Lule serves as a Public Health Specialist and as a Medical Epidemiologist. Currently, he works as a Professor of epidemiology at the School of Public Health in the Makerere University College of Health Sciences. He received medical training at Makerere University and received the M.B.Ch.B. degree in 1974, the D.P.H. degree in 1977, and the M.S. degree in epidemiology in 1984. He has got a track record of over 30 years of research and publications in various aspects of public health. Much of his research has been in infectious diseases and population surveys. His research works have covered studies on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, trials for malaria treatment, trials for nutrition supplements, many surveys of knowledge and practices related to various diseases, health services management, the role of private health practitioners in public health, and studies on orphans. He has disseminated his research findings extensively in scientific conferences and journal publications and has contributed to several books.
