Fudong Liu was born in Tianjin, China, in 1982. He received his B.S. degree in environmental engineering from Tsinghua University in 2005 and Ph.D. degree in environmental science from Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences (RCEES), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), in 2010. He has been an Assistant Professor in RCEES since 2010. He is the gainer of President Scholarship of CAS in 2010, Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award of CAS in 2011, Young Scientist Award of International Association of Catalysis Societies in 2012, and Lu Jiaxi Young Talent Award of CAS in 2013. His research interests include environmental catalysis and air pollution control, especially the development of environmental friendly catalysts for the selective catalytic reduction of NOx with NH3, synthesis of oxide catalysts and precious metal catalysts for the catalytic removal of pollutants from air and water, characterization on the structure and redox property of catalytic materials using XRD, TEM, SEM, FTIR, UV-Vis DRS, UV/Vis Raman, XPS, TPD, TPR, etc., and especially XANES and EXAFS for the microstructure analysis of catalytically active sites, and in situ FTIR spectroscopy and other in situ spectroscopy for reaction mechanism study.
