Ahmed Faik earned his Ph.D. degree at the University Joseph Fourier, Grenoble, France. He was trained as a biochemist, and he is currently an Associate Professor at Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, USA. He has published more than 22 reviewed papers in high-impact journals, and he was the (co)author of 3 book chapters. He has teaching experience of more than 7 years. He research interests evolve around plant cell wall metabolism and glycomics, using functional genomics approaches. His goal is to achieve a system level understanding of plant cell wall polysaccharides biosynthesis and function.
