Carsten Kötting

Carsten K&#xF6tting obtained a Ph.D. degree in physical organic chemistry from the Chemistry Department of Ruhr University Bochum, working on matrix isolation of carbenes and other organic intermediates. Afterwards, he joined the Zewail Group at Caltech, where he did femtochemistry of organic intermediates. He returned to Ruhr University but this time to the Biology Department and the Biophysics Group of Klaus Gerwert. He finished his habilitation in chemical biology working on time-resolved FTIR spectroscopy of GTPases in 2009. Currently, he serves as a Faculty Member of the Department of Biology and Biotechnology.
