Ziv Gil is the Head of the Laboratory for Applied Cancer Research and the Director of Head and Neck Surgery at Tel Aviv Medical Center, Tel Aviv University, Israel. Professor Gil received the M.D. and Ph.D. degrees in physiology and neuroscience form Ben-Gurion University. He completed a Head and Neck Surgery fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York and skull base surgery training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, PA. His research is devoted to development of new surgical means for open and endoscopic skull base surgery and to study the outcome of patients with head and neck cancers. His basic science research focuses on cancers that tend to invade and metastasize to the nervous system. Professor Gil has authored over 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts in the field of head and neck surgery and cancer research. He has authored three books and numerous book chapters, and his work was listed in the "Faculty 1000 Medicine" top of biology and medicine publications.
