Fernando Albericio

Fernando Albericio has currently a double appointment as Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Barcelona and Group Leader at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona). His major research interests cover practically all aspects of peptide synthesis and combinatorial chemistry methodology, as well as synthesis of peptides and small molecules with therapeutic activities. He has published over 650 papers, several review articles, and 47 patents, and he has co-authored 3 books. He is currently Editor of the International Journal of Peptide Research and Therapeutics, Amino Acids and Future Medicinal Chemistry. He is also member of the editorial board of several journals. He received: the Leonidas Zervas award from the European Peptide Society in 1994, the Research Chair from the Generalitat of Catalonia in 2004, Doctor Honoris Causa from the Universidad de Buenos Aires (Argentina) in 2010, and very recently the Vincent du Vigneaud Award from the American Peptide Society in 2011.
