Yoshinobu Eishi holds the position of Professor at the Department of Human Pathology, Tokyo Medical and Dental University, Tokyo, Japan. He is also the Director of the Division of Surgical Pathology, Tokyo Medical and Dental University Hospital. Eishi completed an M.D. degree in pathology at the Tokyo Medical and Dental University, followed by a Ph.D. degree in immunology from the John Curtin School of Medical Research, Australian National University. He is internationally renowned for his study of sarcoidosis and the role Propionibacterium acnes plays in the etiology of the condition. He is also interested in the histogenesis of gastrointestinal cancer, colorectal cancer screening, and Helicobacter pylori infection.
