Essam F. Elsayed
Essam Elsayed is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and a staff Nephrologist at the Dallas VA Medical Center. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and after spending two years as an Assistant Professor there, he went to Tufts Medical Center for his Nephrology Fellowship. While at Tufts, he received his MS degree in Clinical Research from Tufts University Sackler School of Biomedical Science. He is a Fellow of the American Board of Physicians and the American Society of Nephrology. He is an International Consultant in Nephrology Research and an expert in the field of phosphate toxicity. Besides Mineral Bone Disease, his research interest includes obesity and its effect on CKD and cardiovascular outcomes. He is a member of the Editorial Board of international medical journals and an Investigator of multiple clinical research projects.
