Chunzhong Li was born in Dingtao, Shandong Province, China, in 1967. He received the B.S., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees from East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai, in 1989, 1992, and 1997, respectively. He became a Full Professor of School of Materials Science and Engineering in 1998, and now, he works as the Director of Key Laboratory for Ultrafine Materials of the Ministry of Education at East China University of Science and Technology. In 2009, he became the winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. As the first accomplished person, he has achieved the second-class prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2009 and the first-class prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of Shanghai City three times in 2009, 2006, and 2004 respectively. His research interests are focused on nanomaterials and material chemical engineering.
