Ying Chang Liang

Ying-Chang Liang received the Ph.D. degree
in electrical engineering from Jilin
University, China, in 1993. He is now a
Lead Scientist in the Institute for Infocomm
Research (I2R), Singapore. He also
holds Adjunct Associate Professor positions
in Nanyang Technological University and
the National University of Singapore, Singapore.
From December 2002 to December
2003, he was a Visiting Scholar in the Department
of Electrical Engineering, Stanford University. From August
1997 to November 2001, he was a Senior Member of technical
staff in the Centre for Wireless Communications, Singapore.
His research interests include space-time wireless communications,
reconfigurable signal processing and cognitive radio, smart antennas,
ultra-wideband communications, and capacity-achieving
schemes for MIMO fading channels. He received the Best Paper
Award from the 50th IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference. He
was also the corecipient of the 1997 National Natural Science Award
from China. He has been an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions
on Wireless Communications since 2002. He was the Publication
Chair for 2001 IEEE Workshop on Statistical Signal Processing and
is a Senior Member of IEEE.
