Mahadev Sharma received his Ph.D. degree in forest biometrics from Virginia Tech in 1999. After graduation, he worked there as a Postdoctoral Research Associate with Harold Burkhart for about two and half years and moved to Forintek in Quebec City, Canada and worked there as a Research Scientist until Dec. 2004. Since then, he has been working as a Research Scientist of growth and productivity at Ontario Forest Research Institute at the Ministry of Natural Resources in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. He has been working extensively on growth and yield modeling. His specific area of interest is developing mathematical models for estimating tree volume and taper, site index/stand height, and height and diameter growths.
