Leu-Wei Lo received his Ph.D. degree in molecular biophysics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine, Philadelphia, Pa, USA, in 1996, and currently works as a Senior Investigator in the Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Nanomedicine at the National Health Research Institutes of Taiwan. Dr. Lo has long been a vocal advocate of mesoporous silica-based nanotheranostics and serves as a Member of the editorial board of Advances in Biomaterials, American Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (AJNMMI), and Theranostics. His major research interests include multidisciplinary approaches to nano- and biophotonics, especially in the design and application of novel nanoplatforms to in vivo spectroscopy, molecular imaging and nanotherapeutics of cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and central nervous system injury.
