Mbarka Bchetnia is an Assistant Biologist at the Pasteur Institute of Tunis. She obtained her Ph.D. degree with honours in biology at the University of Gabès, Gabès, Tunisia, on June 2003. She pursued an M.S. degree on molecular biology at the University of Tunis, Tunis, Tunisia. Her M.S. thesis was about the genetic investigation of genodermatosis. She carried out her Postdoctoral Training (September 2009-January 2012) at the University of Quebec, Chicoutimi, QC, Canada. She performed genomic, transcriptomic, and therapeutic studies of epidermolysis bullosa simplex, an orphan-inherited skin disorder. She was also of charge of giving microbiology and virology courses at the University. In January 2012, she joined Pasteur Institute of Tunis as an Assistant Biologist. She continued on molecular investigation of human genetic skin disorders. Bchetnia is also involved in training and teaching activities. She is an author/coauthor of more than ten publications.
