Yu Keung Mok

Yu Keung Mok was born in Hong Kong in 1967. He received the Ph.D. degree in physics/chemistry from University of Cambridge, UK, in 1996. From 1996 to 1999, he was a Research Fellow of the Structural Biology and Biochemistry Section at Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada. In 2001, he joined the Department of Biological Sciences, National University of Singapore, as an Assistant Professor. From 2002 to 2005, he was recipient of the Young Investigator Award of the Biomedical Research Council of Singapore. Presently, he serves as an Associate Professor. He is mainly interested in structural and functional relationship of proteins involved in human diseases studied using NMR or X-ray crystallography. His projects include proteins from the Type III and VI secretion systems of pathogenic bacteria, allergens from dust mite, antibacterial proteins, and wound-healing proteins related to atopic dermatitis, and small molecule inhibitors of NF-kB for treatment of asthma.
