Madoka Furuhashi holds an M.D. degree and a Ph.D. degree. He is currently working as the Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Japanese Red Cross Nagoya Daiichi Hospital, Nagoya, Japan. His main research interest is in perinatal medicine. He has expertise in chorioamnionitis, funisitis, amnioinfusion, vaginal birth after Cesarean section, fetal heart rate monitoring, cerclage, and PPROM. He is currently affiliated to the Japan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Japan Medical Association, and Japan Society of Perinatal and Neonatal Medicine. Some of his recently published papers include “Observation on validity of the 5-tier system for fetal heart rate pattern interpretation proposed by Japan Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists” (2011), “Aggressive intervention of previable preterm premature rupture of membranes” (2012), and “Validation of the prediction model for success of vaginal birth after cesarean delivery in Japanese women” (2012).
