Koichi Tsuneyma is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Diagnostic Pathology, University of Toyama, Toyama, Japan. Tsuneyama graduated from Kanazawa University, Kanazawa, Japan, in 1992. He was appointed Assistant Professor at the Department of Pathology (II), Kanazawa University in 1997. He has obtained his D.M. degree in 1992 and Ph.D. degree in 1996. He was appointed the current position as well a Clinical Professor of volunteer series from University of California, Davis, CA, USA, in 2010. Tsuneyama has published extensively in the area of liver pathology especially in primary biliary cirrhosis and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis. His main research interest is morphological analysis of various kinds of human liver diseases. He is also a pioneer to develop new animal models of metabolic syndrome-related liver diseases and immune-mediated liver diseases. Tsuneyama is currently active in pathological diagnosis for liver diseases including inflammation and cancer.
