Kenneth Egstrup received his D.M.S. degree from the University of Odense, Denmark, in 1990. He is a Professor of cardiology at the University of Southern Denmark, in 2007. He is a supervisor for 2 defended Ph.D. theses, 12 Ph.D studies, and 7 ongoing Ph.D. studies. Moreover, he is the author of 108 papers in peer-reviewed journals. He is a Member of Steering Committees of ECHOS, DIAMOND, DANAMI II, SEAS, CONVERSION, HPS2, HPS3, and AZ1305 studies. His current research areas include cardiac CT: special emphasis on ischemic heart disease with 3 ongoing Ph.D. studies; echocardiography: focus on myocardial infarction and atrial fibrillation with 2 ongoing Ph.D. studies; and telemedicine: focus on the use of telemedicine in the treatment of heart failure and atrial fibrillation with 2 ongoing Ph.D. studies.
