Gazi University, Turkey

Yusuf Sahin is a lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Education, Technical Education Faculty. He graduated in production engineering at Gazi University, Ankara. He also completed his M.S. degree at Gazi University. Sahin then went to the University of Aston, Birmingham, to research the production, mechanical, and wear properties of unidirectional boron fibre reinforced metal matrix composites, in the Mechanical Engineering Department. He was awarded his Ph.D. degree in 1994. He returned to Gazi University at the end of 1994, and lectured on composite materials and metal cutting principles. He has conducted much of his research on the wear of metal-based composites in addition to machining of hardened steels. His primary and secondary areas of interest are delivering the lectures and carrying out the laboratory studies on the following subjects: introduction to composite materials, fundamental of metal cutting principles I, manufacturing processes, die and fixture, metal cutting principles II, die techniques and laboratory work tool design. His published books are Metal Cutting Principles, Vol I, Nobel Publication Center, 2000, Ankara, Turkey; Metal Cutting Principles, Vol II, Nobel Publication Center, 2001, Ankara; Introduction to Composites, Gazi Publication Center, 2000, Ankara; Manufacturing Processes, Gazi Publication Center, 2003, Ankara; Metal Cutting Principles, 2nd Edition, Gazi Publication Center, 2003, Ankara; Computer Aided Design and Modelling Techniques, Seckin Distribution Center, 2006, Ankara, Turkey.
