Corina Benjet received the B.S degree from Wellesley College, USA, the M.A. degree in clinical psychology from Clark University, USA, and the Ph.D. degree in psychology from the National University of Mexico. She serves currently as a Researcher at the National Institute of Psychiatry in Mexico City at the Department of Epidemiological and Psychosocial Research. She works also as a Professor and as a Thesis Advisor in the graduate programs of the School of Psychology and the Medical School of the National University of Mexico. Her research interests include adolescent mental health and psychiatric epidemiology. She collaborates with the World Mental Health Surveys Initiative. She conducted the first and currently only representative psychiatric epidemiological survey of the general adolescent population in Mexico. She has received various awards and recognitions for her work.
