Kent A. Harries
Kent A. Harries is a Fellow at William Kepler Whiteford Faculty and an Assistant Professor of structural engineering and mechanics at the University of Pittsburgh. Being a Fellow at the American Concrete Institute, Harries serves at many technical committees including ACI 215–Fatigue, ACI 408–Bond and Development Length, ACI 439–Steel Reinforcement, and ACI 440–FRP Reinforcement. He additionally serves at the ASCE Composite Construction Committee, ASTM D30–Plastics, and he is an Associate Editor of the ASCE Journal of Bridge Engineering. Dr. Harries is the author of over 100 peer-reviewed papers. His research interests include the repair and retrofit of civil infrastructure and the use of on-traditional materials in civil infrastructure. He earned his Ph.D. degree in structural engineering from McGill University in 1995, and he is a licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario, Canada.
