Lorenzo Fatibene was born in Torino, Italy on June 1, 1968. He obtained a degree in physics from the University of Torino, Torino, Italy, in 1992 and the Ph.D. degree in mathematics from the University of Torino, the Polytechnic University of Torino, and the University of Genova in 1999. He received a grant from the Italian CNR and a research fellow research grant from the Department of Mathematics of the University of Torino for short periods. He was a Researcher in mathematical physics from 1999 to 2011 at the University of Torino. Since 2011 he has been Full Professor in mathematical physics at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Torino. His research has been mainly concerned with relativistic theories, conservation laws, geometrical methods in field theories, entropy of black holes, geometrical foundations of loop quantum gravity, extended theories of gravitation. Fatibene is the author of about 60 papers in international reviews and proceedings and a book about gauge-natural field theories. He has been member of the scientific committee of some conferences and workshops. He participated in about 20 national and international conferences delivering several lectures about the research results of his group. Fatibene also collaborated to some activities of communication of science.
