Feo V. Kusmartsev

Feo V. Kusmartsev was born in May 1956. He obtained a diploma in quantum electronics from MPTI, Moscow, in 1980. In 1983, he received his Ph.D. degree in physics from L. D. Landau Institute, Moscow. Since 1996, he has been a Professor of condensed matter theory and Head of the Department of Physics, Loughborough University, UK, and an elected Fellow of British Institute of Physics (since 1999). In 1996, he was a Visiting Professor at the University of Pierre and Marie Curie, Paris, France, and in 1995–1996, he served at NORDITA, Denmark. In 1993–1994, he served at Tokyo University, Japan; during 1991–1993 at Oulu University, Finland; between 1989 and 1991, he was a Humboldt Fellow at Cologne, Germany; and in 1983–1997 he served at L. D. Landau Institute for Theoretical Physics, Russia. Now, he is an Honorary Research Fellow. Since 2003, he has been a Chairman of ESF Network-Programme Arrays of Quantum Dots and Josephson Junctions (AQDJJ), which encompasses 75 universities from 14 countries. Since 2003, he has been an EPSRC college member, served on many EPSRC prioritization panels (UK) at the Academy of Finland International Prioritization Panel. He is also a Chairman and Coorganizer of 12 international workshops and conferences, and served on 15 scientific advisory committees at international conferences.
