Piero G. Pavan
Piero G. Pavan obtained a structural engineering degree at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Padova (Italy) in 1995, with a thesis on computational methods for the numerical simulation of elastomeric materials. He had a Ph.D. degree in structures mechanics in 1998, with a thesis on computational methods for nonlinear dynamics. From 1998, he has been working in the field of biomechanics with particular regard to mechanics of tissues/biomaterials and computational biomechanics. Recent research activity concerns experimental and computational mechanics of soft tissues. He serves currently as an Associated Professor of industrial bioengineering at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Padova. His teaching activity is focused on the mechanics of biological tissues and computational methods addressed to the investigation of biomechanical systems. He authored more than thirty papers on international scientific journals.
