Ji C. He is a Research Associate Professor of the Department of Visual Sciences at The New England College of Optometry, where he has been on the faculty for 8 years. He received a B.E. degree from Zhejiang University, China, in 1982, an M.S. degree in physiological optics from Shanghai Institute of Physiology, Chinese Academy of Science, China, in 1985, and a Ph.D. degree in psychology from the University of Chicago, Ill, USA, in 1995. In the process of his education, he spent three years since 1996 at the Schepens Eye Research Institute, an affiliation of Harvard University, for completing a postdoc training program supported by NIH. Dr. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Fudan University and an Invited Professor of Wenzhou Medical College in China. Moreover, he is a Member of both ARVO and the Optical Society of America. His research covers a broad area including the optics of the eye, color vision, spatial vision, optical imaging of the eye, and related clinical applications. His research interests are currently focused on physiological optics, especially on wavefront aberrations of the eye, accommodation, and myopia development. His research will provide ophthalmologists and optometrists with both comprehensive and effective information for wavefront-guided vision corrections such as refractive surgery, cataract surgery, and contact lenses.
