Xuehu Ma got his Ph.D. degree in 1994 at the Chemical Engineering Department, Dalian University of Technology (DUT), Liaoning, China. He worked at Tsinghua University (Beijing) as Postdoctoral Research Fellow during 1995–1997 and Visiting Scholar at Queen Mary London University (UK) in 1998, Oxford University (UK) in 2001, and University of Missouri-Columbia (USA) in 2010. He currently serves as a Professor and Head of Chemical Engineering Department, Dalian University of Technology and the Vice Director of the Institute of Science and Technology, DUT. His Research interests include novel surface materials and interfacial transportation phenomena, dropwise condensation heat transfer, absorption heat pump and waste heat recovery technology, multieffect distillation for sea water, and preservation of stem cell and tissue engineering, and it has been funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Natural Science Foundation, Ministry of Education of China, R&D funds from local governments, as well as the PetroChina Company Ltd (PetroChina) and China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group). He has published more than 120 refereed papers in journals and international conferences.
