Mohamed Abdel-Rehim
Mohamed Abdel-Rehim is a Professor in analytical and bioanalytical chemistry with more than 20-year experience (R&D) in analytical and bioanalytical chemistry, having strong background and theoretical knowledge of separation sciences and state-of-the-art instrumentation related to chromatographic separation and mass spectrometry techniques. Dr. Abdel-Rehim was born in Alexandria, Egypt, and got his B.S. degree in chemistry from Alexandria University, Alexandria, Egypt. He moved from Egypt to Sweden, and in 1986, he finished his M.S. degree at Stockholm University, Sweden. In 1988, he started his Ph.D. studies at the Department of Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Uppsala University under the supervision of Professor Douglas Westerlund. In 1995/1996, he moved to the pharmaceutical company Astra Pain Control, at Södertälje, Sweden, as a Senior Research Scientist. In 2000, he was appointed as an Associate Professor in analytical chemistry, Karlstad University, Karlstad, Sweden. In 2003, he was appointed as a Professor in analytical chemistry at Karlstad University, Karlstad, Sweden. In 2006, he was appointed as a principal scientist at Development DMPK & Bioanalysis, Södertälje, Global DMPK & Bioanalysis, AstraZeneca. In 2007, he was appointed as a Visitor Professor at the National Research Center of Egypt (NRC). The main focus of his research is the invent of highly automated and integrated sample preparation techniques for the isolation of drugs and metabolites from complex matrices. He has published over 200 publications (scientific papers, proceedings, patent, etc.).
