Mouhamadou Diop earned a Ph.D. degree in materials science and engineering from the Dalian University of Technology, Dalian, China, and Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, France. The title of his thesis is “Numerical analysis for metal foaming process with lattice Boltzmann method.” Diop has a double degree in science and technology in mechanic and fundamental physics from the Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, France, and he received an engineering degree in aeronautics from Supélec, Gif-sur-Yvette, France. Since July 2012, Diop has been holding a Postdoctoral position in the chair MACE3, Laval University, Quebec City, QC, Canada. His works are on the following topics: advanced modeling simulation and the formation and expansion of gas bubbles underneath the anode in a Hall-Héroult cell and high-performance computing and advanced numerical simulation of the dynamic interaction over the interface separating the two phases in a Hall-Héroult cell and high-performance computing.
