Ivan Bozovic is Group Leader at Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton, NY, USA. Previously he was the CTO of Oxxel, Germany, a Senior Scientist at Varian Research Center, Palo Alto, Calif, USA, and the Head of Physics Department and Professor at University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia (where he got his Ph.D. degree in 1975). He was also a Visiting Professor or Scholar at Stanford University, Yale University, University of California at Berkeley, University of Pennsylvania, Los Alamos National Laboratory, University Notre-Dame in Namur, Belgium, and Ecole Superieure de Physique et Chimie Industrielle in Paris, France. Bozovic is best known for his pioneering work on atomic-layer-by-layer molecular beam epitaxy (ALL-MBE) of cuprate superconductors and other complex oxides and synthesis of precise heterostructures, multilayers, and superlattices. He has over 230 research publications including 11 monographs and gave over 250 invited talks. He has received several awards including the BNL Science and Technology Award (2008), SPIE Technology Achievement Award (2004), M. Jaric Memorial Prize (1999, the first recipient), Polaroid Prize (1989), Institute of Physics Prize (1985), and so forth. He is a Honorary Member of Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (2009), Fellow of the American Physical Society (1998), and Fellow of the International Society for Optical Engineering (1997). He chaired 17 conferences and has served on the advisory boards of over 50 conferences and of several journals and institutions.
