Y. H. Wei
Y. H. Wei received his B.S. degree from National Taiwan University in 1974 and his Ph.D. degree in biochemistry in 1980 from the Department of Chemistry at State University of New York at Albany in USA. During 1980-1981, he did postdoctoral research in bioenergetics at the departments of Chemistry and Physics at the same university. He returned to Taiwan and joined the Department of Biochemistry at National Yang-Ming College in 1981. He has been serving as a Professor at the Department of Biochemistry at National Yang-Ming University since 1985. He served as the Dean of Student Affairs and Academic Affairs at National Yang-Ming University during 1989-1991 and 2006-2008, respectively. He was appointed as the Director General of the Department of Life Sciences at National Science Council, Executive Yuan from 2001 to 2005. Since August 2009, he has been the President at Mackay Medical College and Taiwan Society for Mitochondrial Medicine and Research. He also served as an Adviser in the Ministry of Education (2008-2010), Executive Yuan, and the Coordinator of Biotechnology in Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Programs (2003-2009) in the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Executive Yuan.
