Lisanne Brown has MPH and Ph.D. degrees in epidemiology from Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, New Orleans, LA, USA. She is currently Director of the Division of Evaluation and Research at the Louisiana Public Health Institute (LPHI), with a staff of 10 evaluation specialists. As Division Director, Dr. Brown oversees the evaluation of all LPHI programs including the Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living, The Primary Care and Stabilization Grant, and the School Health Connection Project. Dr. Brown has more than 20 years? experience conducting applied public health research, with a particular focus on program evaluation. Prior to Joining LPHI, Dr. Brown worked in the Department of International Health and Development at the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine where she focused on reproductive health and HIV and AIDS programs in developing countries. Dr. Brown has conducted a number of studies examining the effect of changes in health care delivery systems on population level outcomes. Working with stakeholders at local and national levels, results from Dr. Brown's research have been used to improve programs and develop evidenced-based policies.
