Joong-Ki Kook received his D.D.S., Ph.D., and M.S.D. degrees from Seoul National University, Department of Dentistry, Seoul, Republic of Korea, and Chosun University, College of Dentistry, Gwangju, Republic of Korea, respectively. He currently is the Chairperson for the Korean Collection for Oral Microbiology and he is also a Professor in the Department of Oral Biochemistry, School of Dentistry, Chosun University, Republic of Korea. His areas of expertise include Oral Microbiology, Bacterial taxonomy, Metabolism of Fusobacterium nucleatum and Streptococcus mutans, and Molecuar mechanism of Antimicrobial Agents. He served as a Visiting Assistant Researcher in the University of California, Los Angeles, USA, during 2006-2007, and he as a part-time Research Assistant Professor in Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry, University of Southern California, USA, during 2009-2011.
