Patrick Gillet holds a Ph.D. degree in 1986 and D.S. degree in 2002 in marine ecology. He is a Professor in ecology at the UCO. He is a Member of the research team Mer, Molécules, Santé (MMS) Sea, Molecules, Health, EA 2160. He was a Vice Rector at UCO for academic issues from 2002 to 2009 and the Director of the Institute of Applied Biology and Ecology (IBEA) from 1990 to 2002. His research fields include polychaetous annelids as biological indicators of estuarine and marine ecosystems. Moreover, he is a Member of the Advisory Board of the International Polychaetes Association.
