Paul Vogt received an M.S. degree in cognitive science and engineering from the University of Groningen (The Netherlands) and obtained a Ph.D. degree at the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium). He held postdoc positions at the Universiteit Maastricht, Tilburg University, and the University of Edinburgh. Currently, he works as an Assistant Professor at the Tilburg Center for Cognition and Communication at Tilburg University in The Netherlands. His research has focused on (modelling) the evolution of language, symbol grounding, and language acquisition. In his current project, he studies language socialisation and language acquisition of young infants, using ethnographic methods in Mozambique and The Netherlands, and computational modelling.
