Irem Ozkarahan received the Ph.D. degree in industrial and management systems engineering from Arizona State University, Phoenix, AZ, USA, with dissertation title “A flexible nurse scheduling support system,” the M.S. degree in industrial engineering from University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada, and the B.S. degree in industrial engineering from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey. Ozkarahan's areas of concentration include information systems, industrial systems, operations research, and organization control. Ozkarahan worked as a Professor and Chair at the Department of Computer Science, Troy University, Montgomery, AL, USA (March 1999–October 2003), a Vice President at Dokuz Eylul University (2000–2007), a Professor at College of Engineering, Department of Industrial Engineering (1998–2007), an Associate Professor at the College of Engineering, Department of Industrial Engineering (January 1994 to May 1998), an Associate Professor at College of Business, Department of Management, the Pennsylvania State University, Erie, PA, USA (1987–1992), and an Assistant Professor at the School of Business Administration. Ozkarahan has over 43 refereed journal publications and over 40 + refereed conference proceedings.
