Stephen Cooke received his Ph.D. degree in chemistry from Exeter University, Exeter, UK in 2000 under the supervision of Professor A. C. Legon. The title of his thesis was “The Halogen Bond: Investigations of the Rotational Spectra of Lewis Bases with Dihalogens.” Cooke went on to work as a Postdoctoral Fellow with Professor Svava Osk Jonsdottir at the Technical University of Denmark in Lyngby, followed by a position with Professor Michael C. L. Gerry at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. After a short period at the University of North Texas, Cooke is now a Faculty Member at Purchase College, SUNY. His area of interest focuses on the development of Fourier transform microwave spectroscopies and the application of these techniques in the study of large halogenated species.
