Ricardo Santiago Corral is a holder of Ph.D. degree in biochemistry (immunoparasitology), Universidad de Buenos Aires and Member of Research Career, National Research Council (CONICET), Argentina (since 1993). Corral's areas of expertise include parasite infections, tropical neglected diseases, host-parasite interactions, immunity to parasite infections, immunopathogenesis of parasitic diseases, and vaccines and therapeutics against parasite infections. The posts he held at foreign institutions are Visiting Researcher at the Karolinska Institutet (Stockholm, Sweden), Centro de Biología Molecular Severo Ochoa (Madrid, Spain), Universidade de São Paulo (Brazil), and Universidad Autónoma (Mexico). The awards he got are Dr. Leonardo Satz Award in Basic Immunology, Argentine Society of Immunology, Award in Clinical Research and Technology, National Committee of Pharmaceutical Industry, Mexico, and Dr. Ricardo Margni Award in Immunology Research, National Academy of Biochemistry, Argentina. He is Member of the Argentinean Society of Protozoology and Parasitic Diseases.
