Dharmadas Kumbhakar was born on 31st May, 1949. He was graduated from the Presidency College, Calcutta, India. He received the M.S. degree in pure physics, the M.Phil in physical sciences, and the Ph.D. degree in particle physics from the University of Calcutta, Calcutta, West Bengal, India. His research interest has now switched on to photonics. Kumbhakar's main interest is in the development of numerical algorithm and computational tools and their application to photonic devices. He is also collaborating works on the number theory and cryptographic algorithms. Currently, he is a Professor at the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at the Asansol Engineering College, Asansol, India. He is also teaching physics at the Postgraduate Section of the Department of Physics, B. B. College, Asansol, India.
