Stefan C. Dekker
Stefan C. Dekker was born in Middelburg, the Netherlands, in 1970. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Dynamics (IBED), University of Amsterdam, in 2000. The subject of his Ph.D. was about modelling and monitoring forest transpiration: concepts, parameters, and behavior. Presently, Dekker works as a Researcher/Lecturer at the Department of Environmental Sciences, Utrecht University. In 2006, he became a High Potential Researcher for the Utrecht University. His subject of study is eco-hydrology, and he is mainly interested in identifying and modeling interactions and feedbacks between vegetation, soil, and the atmosphere. Dekker develops new knowledge on feedbacks between the different components (vegetation, soil, and atmosphere) of different spatial (local to global) and temporal scales (early Holocene to current).
