Ioannis Vasilakoglou received his Dipl.-Agric. Eng. degree in plant sciences; his M.S. in genetics, plant breeding, and agronomy; his Ph.D. degree in weed science from the Department of Agricultural Sciences, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Thessaloniki, Greece. He has taught in several Institutes and he currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the Laboratory of Weed Science, Department of Plant Production, Technological Educational Institute of Larissa, Greece. His research fields include, among others, weed biology, ecology and interference, weed management, herbicide fate and behavior in soil, herbicide selectivity, herbicide resistant weeds and their mechanisms, crop allelopathy and their response to abiotic stress, tillage systems, and intercrops. He has participated as principal researcher and project coordinator in many National and European Programs. Dr. Vasilakoglou has published 38 Science Citation Index journal papers with more than 260 citations, and many textbooks, proceedings, and so forth.
